Frequently asked questions

Does Legato work for any instrument?
Absolutely. Whether you are a pianist, guitarist, vocalist, or drummer, Legato is designed to track any musical instrument that requires structured practice and technical exercises.
Is there a mobile app?
Legato is a powerful web application. This means you can access it from any device—laptop, tablet, or smartphone—without downloading anything from an app store.
Can I export my data?
Data export is not supported yet, but it is a high priority on our roadmap.
In the Repertoire section, what's the difference between Exercises and Pieces?
Think of Exercises as your technical workout—drills like scales, arpeggios, or Hanon exercises designed to build your physical skill. Pieces are the musical compositions you are mastering, like a sonata or a song. Legato separates them so you can track your technical growth and artistic progress independently and maintain a balanced practice routine.
What exactly does Lifetime Access mean?
It means you pay once and never again. You will have full access to all current features and every future update we release. No subscriptions.
How does the free trial work?
You can sign up and start using every feature immediately. You can log up to 5 practice sessions for free. Once you hit the limit, you'll be asked to make the one-time purchase to continue logging new sessions.
What if I change my mind?
A 30-day "no questions asked" refund policy is available. If Legato isn't the right fit for your workflow, you can request your refund directly from your Profile page.
Who built Legato?
My name is Sarino. I started learning the piano as an adult in 2024 and quickly realized I needed a better way to organize my sessions and track my growth. I built Legato to solve that problem for myself, and it has helped me stay consistent and break through plateaus. You can see my own practice journey and progress on my YouTube channel.
Can I suggest a new feature?
Yes. Feedback from the community is always welcome. Legato is constantly evolving, and the best way to make it better is by listening to the musicians who use it every day. If you have an idea for a new tool or a way to improve the workflow, please reach out.
